Bay Springs Mentor Program
CGR-UWG: We mentored middle school students at Bay Springs Middle School over the summer. We went to Stone Mountain, Six flags, the Capitol State Building, the Civil Rights Museum , and had many events for them at their school.

Volunteering with Open Hand Atlanta
CGR-GSU: We partnered with Open Hand Atlanta and helping them prep and pack meals for the homeless.

Rock' n Ribville
CGR-GSU: We are helping out with a festival being held in Lawrenceville, GA. People are sharing their talents with us for the good of the city. The shifts include: A judges station, VIP tent security/ Bouncy House Station/ Stage Runners/ Event Runners, Clean up

CGR-GSU: Volunteered at the Safe house on Ellis Street

GSU Panthers vs. Georgia Bulldogs Blood Challenge
CGR-GSU: This was a blood drive which included: Registration, Cantine, Traffic control, Promotion, Prize givers. Registration: Sign people in during the blood drive. Cantine: assist donors to get drinks and snacks, may be moved around if extra assistance is needed elsewhere. Traffic control: ensure that the order of donors remains constant. Promotion: encourage students to donate blood Prize givers: pass out t-shirts and other items to giveaway winners.

Atlanta Community Food Bank
CGR-GSU: Product Rescue Center (PRC) volunteers sort, inspect, and package donated items. These items include non-perishable goods such as canned and packaged products and packaged products, perishable goods as frozen or refrigerated items and non-food household necessities such as paper products and toiletries. The PRC is a hands-on project for groups, schools, businesses, and individuals.

CGR-GSU: We played Bingo with the Stewart House residents

Safehouse on Ellis Street
CGR-GSU: Helped to feed the homeless and to prepare meals for them as well as serve them.

Atlanta Community Food Bank
CGR-GSU: We helped to pack meals for the Atlnta homeless community. There were various task, that included sorting, weighing, pulling boxes, throwing away food items that couldn't be packed, etc.

Homecoming Blood Drive
CGR-GSU: Helped with the blood drive. This included helping people register and sign in. Handed out shirts to those that donated blood. We also made sure people were able to get snacks and just made sure they were able to leave safely. Helped make sure the order of the donors was correct and everything went smoothly.

CHOA- Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta
CGR-GSU: This was a service event that we did with Children's Health Care of Atlanta and were helping kids at the hospital with an arts and crafts project. We partnered with another organization and helped the young girls make crowns and the young boys make face mask.

Random Acts of Kindness - Fire Department
CGR-UWG: We took the Carroll County Fire Department lunch , sweets , and a card full of love and inspirational quotes to show our appreciation.

Belles of the Ball
CGR-UWG: We volunteered with Belles of the Ball. Belles of the Ball was created to ensure every high school girl that wants to go prom can attend no matter their socioeconomic background. We helped set up and clean. We became a personal stylist for the day helping the girls find the perfect dress for them. After they found a dress they were encouraged and cheered on as they walked the red carpet.

CGR-GSU: We ventured to Pebblebrook High School in Cobb County. We discussed College Girls Rock, the importance of healthy support system of women encouraging your success, and the upcoming High School mentorship program that we will host at GSU in March.

CGR-GSU: At Mays High School, members of the Eboard and Rock members discussed the upcoming Mentorship Program that we will have hosted at GSU. We offered them the opportunity to get involved and enlightened a lot of them on CGR as a brand and organization.

Taking The Next Steps
CGR-GSU: High School students came from various schools to GSU's campus and indulged in a college prep day through workshops. We discussed the ins and outs of applying for college and scholarships, the importance and recognizing your purpose, and how to get involved on campus once you do arrive.

CGR-UWG: We took welcome baskets to the group home for the kids that will be entering the group home . We also had a sip and stroke for the young girls that are already their. We played character building games and make them think about their goals.

Girls Who Rock Under 25
CGR-GSU: At Girls Who Rock Under 25, we had a panel (Amber Grimes, Sparkle Marie, and Jiya Janae) that discussed their journeys and experiences as young entrepreneurs. This was enlightening and inspirational for everyone in the crowd. The gems of wisdom and empowerment were amazing. It was so riveting that those that had no interest in becoming an entrepreneur began to think about 'what if". This was an amazing event that displayed women of influence and women of power that made a way and paved their own lane.

Fighting Black Women Stereotypes
CGR-UWG: All girls and women are different but there has always been a negative connotation of how black women are portrayed. This event stood as a way to bring women together to speak on the negative stereotypes of black women in the society.

CGR-GSU: We educated a small crowd of women on the importance of leading a healthy sex life. enlightenment on prevention, STIs, STD, AIDS, human anatomy, and pregnancy.

GLAM TWINZ
CGR-GSU: Georgia's very own Glam Twinz from their popular YouTube channel visited GSU on the evening of February 2nd to share their gems of knowledge in regard to starting your own business, pursuing your passion, and properly caring for your hair. They have become very notable for branding themselves, writing their own book, and being almost every woman's hair goals. This event tied into our CGR Mission because we were able to enlighten hundreds of women on the importance of following your passion and turning that into a profit, chasing your dreams, and always striving to be the best version of yourself coming from humble beginnings.
